World Book Day 2026

On Thursday, Stone Bay stepped into a world of books, fun and imagination as we celebrated World Book Day. Our pupils — and some members of staff — arrived dressed as their favourite book characters, bringing stories to life around the school. Miss Trunchbull, Harry Potter, Willy Wonka, The Cat in the Hat and many other wonderful characters could be spotted taking part in the Daily Mile.

Each class chose a book to explore and created fantastic story sacks, which will now be kept in our library for everyone to enjoy. Throughout the day, pupils experienced stories in a variety of engaging ways, including sensory play, story massage and DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) time.

In the afternoon, pupils were delighted to share a range of exciting activities with their parents. It was a truly wonderful day, with reading for pleasure at the heart of everything we did.
