Play Therapy
Meet Kim: Play Therapist

Kim is a registered Play Therapist who works with us at Stone Bay School one day per week. Play Therapy is a therapeutic approach where a trained therapist uses the natural language of play to help children express their thoughts, feelings and experiences.
For children, play is communication; it is how they explore and make sense of their world. Through play - using toys, sand, art or games - pupils can safely explore difficult emotions, work through past challenges and practice new coping skills.
Kim creates a warm, accepting environment and follows the pupil’s lead, helping them to process their feelings and develop greater self-control, ultimately leading to improved behaviour and well-being.
