Jalak is a Senior Educational Psychologist working for one day each week at Stone Bay School. Educational Psychologists (EPs) use psychology to help with learning and behaviour and try to make things better for children, young people and the adults that support them.
Jalak has training in child development, the psychology of learning and teaching, children and young people’s emotional well-being and the psychological aspects of educating children with additional educational needs. She has worked as an EP for almost 20 years and in that time, Jalak has worked in a range of educational settings including specialist units and schools.
Jalak is involved in a range of tasks across the organisation. These include:
- Classroom observations
- Consultation with school staff and/or parents
- Direct work with children and young people
- Organisational consultation with senior leadership teams to consider whole school approaches
